RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT
THE MINUTES AUGUST 14, 2014
RESOLVED, to accept the minutes of the August 14, 2014
meeting as presented to each Board Member.

Supervisor Belson opened the floor for public comments.
Jon Neal spoke first approaching the Board with water samples taken from the stream adjacent to his property. The water was noticeably black. Residents from the Ward and Alps Roads area claim their wells are contaminated due to local farmers spreading liquid manure on nearby farm fields.
David Rau expressed concerns with resident’s inability to use wells for bathing and some of these families have children. He spoke with one of the farmers directly.
Brian Smith asked the Town what they, as residents, should do about the problem.
The Board responded by encouraging all residents affected to contact the Health Department, DEC and their Local State Representatives.
Tara Neace approached the Board with concerns with regard to property maintenance between her home and the neighbor. She would like the Code Enforcer to follow up with Zoning Regulations concerning property maintenance.
Reports
Michele Harling – Assessor, Sat in on NYS Taxation and Finance webinar. Topic was property tax freeze and basic STAR. Orleans County Assessor’s Association will be meeting on September 25th where they will meet their new CRM’s.
Roger Wolfe-Highway Superintendent Mentioned there are bushes in the cemetery that are overgrown, should be cut down or taken out.
Councilman Bradley suggested contacting the families of the graves and sending a letter asking if they would like us to remove or cut them down or if they would rather prune them.
Roger Wolfe-Highway Superintendent Did more water hook-ups.
The Town Board reviewed the roofing quotes. They requested that the Highway Superintendent get 2 additional quotes for steel roof and gable vents from the 2 lowest quote contractors, not to exceed the lowest quote.
