Chairman Donald Lamay called the Regular Planning Board Meeting to order at 7:10 pm, at the Town of Yates, 8 S. Main Street, Lyndonville, NY 14098.

MINUTES:

Chairman Donald Lamay entertained a motion to accept the minutes from the October 2, 2014 meeting.

 

RESOLUTION NO.  5-11/14

 

RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE MEETING MINUTES FROM THE OCTOBER 2, 2014 MEETING AS PRESENTED TO EACH BOARD MEMBER.

 

RESOLVED, to accept the meeting minutes from October 2, 2014 as presented to each Board Member.

Seconded:  Richard Kurz

 

Votes:   3 Ayes (Lamay, Hughes, Kurz); 0 Nays

 

Chairman Donald Lamay called the public hearing to order at 7:30 pm.

 

This hearing is for a special use permit submitted by David Dewing for a Section 740 Home Business Class A for a hair salon.  It will be one chair and by appointment only.

 

Chairman Donald Lamay opened to the floor for any questions or concerns.

 

Dan Wolfe asked if there was going to be a sign.

 

Bobbi Houseman – As of now, no.  Eventually, maybe.

 

Dan Wolfe – You have 144 sq. ft., will it stay the same?

 

David Dewing – Yes.

 

There was no one present for or against the special use permit.

 

Adjourned public hearing and reconvened to regular meeting. 

 

Richard Kurz asked if David Dewing was the owner and his daughter, Bobbi Houseman, will be the operator?

 

David Dewing – Yes.

 

Chairman Donald Lamay – We will add Bobbi Houseman to the special use permit.

                Bobbi Houseman signed the special use permit.

 

Chairman Donald Lamay – Everything is in order and looks good.

 

Mark Hughes made a motion to accept David Dewing’s special use permit application for a Section 740 Home Business Class A for a hair salon (one chair by appointment only) with Bobbi Houseman added to the special use permit as operator.

 

RESOLUTION NO. 6-11/14

 

RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT DAVID DEWING’S SPECIAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION FOR A SECTION 740 HOME BUSINESS CLASS A FOR A HAIR SALON (ONE CHAIR BY APPOINTMENT ONLY) WITH BOBBI HOUSEMAN ADDED TO THE SPECIAL USE PERMIT AS OPERATOR.

 

RESOLVED, to accept David Dewing’s special use permit application for a Section 740 Home Business Class A for a hair salon (one chair by appointment only) with Bobbi Houseman added to the special use permit as operator.

Dan Wolfe – Tom Heck approached me a few weeks ago and mentioned about having a home business. 

               

Bonnie Heck – Looking to open a gift shop.  Would like to have; organic herbs, teas, pottery and incense.

 

Dan Wolfe asked where the business would be.

 

Bonnie Heck – In the garage – will use half.

 

Richard Kurz – Is the property big enough?  (Dimensions)

 

Dan Wolfe – Also mentioned the drive way may be too small.  No desire to back out, there should be a turn around.  Are you going to advertise?

 

Bonnie Heck – Yes and it is possible for a turn around. 

 

Dan Wolfe asked hours of operation.

 

Bonnie Heck – 2 or 3 hours late afternoon and Saturday mornings.

 

Dan Wolfe asked them to come in and speak with the board and give their ideas on what they want to do.  If they decide to go with it he will have them fill out the special use permit and SEQR form.

 

Dan Wolfe gave a brief update on Johnson’s cars.
