The Meetings was called to Order by the Supervisor at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall 8 South Main Street, Lyndonville NY

RESOLUTION NO. 70-7/10

 

RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES 

 

RESOLVED, to accept the minutes of the June 10, 2010 meetings. as presented to each Board Member.

 

Offered by Councilman, Bentley, who moved its adoption.

Seconded by Councilman Rutledge

Privilege of the Floor

 

John Anderson- I would like in writing information on the camping permit regulations and how it is going to be enforced and by whom.

 

Attorney David Schubel will contact Mr. Anderson on this matter.

 

 

Ralph Smith Question on Barnum Lane –is there a map that shows Barnum Lane? Who would someone contact   about putting it on for gps purposes

T

he Clerk explained that some of the lanes go north and then t off to both sides of the lane.  Will ask the Highway superintendent about a map and gps information.

 

Bill Ryan- we were told that where we live is Lakeshore Road, Now all of a sudden we see a sign saying East Lake Road.  Would like to know why the change. 

 

Supervisor Belson will contact the County and find out about the change.  As far as records go it is indeed Lakeshore Road.

 

Ralph Smith- is there a report on the Town of Yates and Village consolidation study?

 

Supervisor Belson- the village of Lyndonville has this information and the Village had control of the decision making.

 

John Anderson requested copy of the budget and the latest monthly report.

 

Paul Lauricella-  Who pays Health Care for workers?

 

Supervisor Belson- the Town pays health care up to $10,000. After that the employee must pay.  We have been fortunate that we have been able to keep the cost under this amount.

 

Paul Lauricella- do the Board members get retirement? 

 

John Belson, Supervisor-They are eligible to join the retirement system, but at this time no Board member belongs to the System.

 

Paul Lauricella- When is the collective bargaining for the Union people?

 

Supervisor Belson- the current contract ends this December.

 

Josette Lauze- Would like to thank the Town for the use of the Building on July 6th for our meeting.

 

Shelly Harling-Assessor - Talked with Chuck Nesbitt about cost of recycling bins. He explained that other counties do not charge to replace the bins the cost of new bins for those Counties, are rolled into the special district cost. New garbage/recycling contract is being worked on at this time. The present contract runs out the end of 2010.

 

Every year the Town has a tire-drop-off for Town of Yates property owners. This year it will be held on August 21,2010 from 9:00 A.M. until noon at the Highway Garage

RESOLUTION NO. 71-7/10

 

RESOLUTION TO HOLD TIRE-DROP -OFF FOR TOWN PROPERTY OWNERS

 

WHEREAS, each year the Town of Yates has held a tire-drop-off for Town of Yates property owners, be it

 

RESOLVED, the tire-drop-off shall be held on August 21,2010 from 9:00 a.m. until noon, at the Town Highway Garage at 11374  East Yates Center Road.  Tires will be accepted with or without rims.

 

Offered by Councilman Rutledge who moved its adoption.

Seconded by Councilman Bradley.  5 ayes;0 nays

 

 Councilman Bentley left the meeting at 7:30 P.M.

 

Supervisor Belson  noted that we were accepted for the water grant for Goodwin Road, Ward Road and Woodworth Road but there is no money coming down from the government.   We will know next week if the Phase 10 project is feasible.

 

There will be a meeting on Court consolidation in Shelby on July 21,2010 this will be between Yates Shelby and Ridgeway.

 

Lynne Johnson-Legislature- reminded everyone of the Orleans County Fair,    running from Monday July 26th thru July 31.   Opening ceremony,  Monday at 6:00 P.M.

 

 

Orleans County Supervisors/Legislature Picnic Tuesday July 27 at 6:30 –Orleans County Fair Grounds. Let Clerk know by July 20th
